Before You Begin:
- Have all your identification documents (IDs) ready
- You need at least ONE photo-type ID document (e.g., Driver's License, Passport)
- If you don't have a photo ID, contact your mortgage broker for alternative verification methods
- Make sure your mobile device's volume is turned up and not on mute.
Here's how the NextGenID verification process works:
1. Receive and Click the SMS Link
You will receive an SMS message from NextGenID with a verification link. Click this link to start the process.
2. Open Your Browser and Accept Privacy & Consent
The link will open in your default web browser on your mobile device. You'll be asked to read and confirm NextGenID's privacy and consent statement.
3. Grant Camera Access
Once you've given consent, the system will request access to your device's camera. Please allow this access; otherwise, the process will stop.
4. Capture Images of Your ID
Follow the on-screen instructions and voice commands to take pictures of your ID document(s).
5. Review ID Details
NextGenID's system will scan the images and display the extracted ID details. Carefully check that these details match exactly what is shown on your ID document.
6. Correct Any Errors (If Necessary)
If you find any errors in the captured details, click or touch the relevant area and make the corrections. Important: Only change details if they are genuinely incorrect. For example, if your license shows a middle name initial instead of the full name, do not change it unless the initial is wrong. This ensures accuracy when verifying your identity with the original issuer.
7. Selfie Video Confirmation
The final step is to record a selfie video to confirm that you are the person shown in your photo ID.
